Happy 5th Birthday John Harrison

We did not have our camera Friday night so I don't have any cute pictures to post.  But, our nephew John Harrison had his fifth birthday party.   Ms. Belle spent some time with Grams since she had not been feeling well and Bri and I headed over to the party.  John's birthday was a spiderman theme and it was the coolest Spiderman party we have ever been too!  His cake was adorable!!!  Brian and I had a great time and Belle received a cute bunny squeaky party favor even though she could not make the party.  Thanks John Harrison!!!  Also we were able to see our other nephew Davis take a few steps that evening.  It is amazing to us how fast our sweet nephews are growing up!!

Ear Infection

Well...what a week we have had!!!  I knew Monday morning that Belle was not feeling too well.  I called the doctor and they told me to watch her the next few days.  By Tuesday night I knew that I would be taking her to the doctor the next day.  We went Wednesday morning and Mommy's intuition was correct!  Belle has her first ear infection.  The doctor said she couldn't believe that she actually had an infection because she was so smiley and happy...my sweet little girl;)  Bri and I have felt so bad for our babe!  I think that now we are on our fifth day of antibotic she is finally starting to feel a little better.  This is the only picture we took this week since she was so miserable.  We spent the week just cuddling and loving our little girl.  We are hoping for a better week in the Ledbetter household this week.  But, I will say I think I am officially sick with Belle's cough and running nose.

The most beautiful day

We have been so sick of this deary winter weather at our house!  Even though I know it is not here to stay--Sunday was such a gorgeous day.  Bri and I took Belle to church this morning and during one of our trips to the narthex we met little Sarah who is one month younger than Belle.  She is adorable and her Mommy and I hope to plan play dates for the girls once they get a little older!  Belle also joined Bri and I for Sunday school today for the our first time back since she was born.  She did great and of course everyone thought she was adorable. Bri took Belle home and let me enjoy a nice lunch with our class.  We love TJ Deli and their fantastic club sandwiches!

Later in the afternoon we decided to head to Tanglewood-which is an amazing park in Forsyth County for a long walk with our new BOB revolution.  Grams and Grandpa G joined us for our long walk.  Even though Ms. Belle had only had a 30 minute nap all day she decided to stay awake for our hour walk.  She took in all the sights and sounds.

Happy Girl!

My green/brown eyed girl!

Bri and I have noticed that Belle's eyes are starting to change from that infant greyish blue.  The jury is still out but I am guessing we are going to have a browned eyed girl.  Just like her Mommy!  But, there is a chance that she could have green eyes like her Daddy.  I am sure in the next few months we will know for sure.  We have noticed so many changes in our little girl over the last three weeks.  She loves eating her hands.....see below and is so observant of everyone and everything.  We think she is going to be so smart....of course we are a little bias.  We enjoyed a lazy Saturday afternoon.  Belle watched Wake Forest get beat with her Daddy and neither one of them were very happy!!!

Visit with great friends!

Belle had a great visit with two of my best friends this week. On Thursday, I had the day off and we met Linda and Elsa for lunch while they were passing through town. Linda and I could not believe how much the girls had grown since we had our last visit. Adorable Elsa is growing so much hair and is looking more like her beautiful Mommy everyday! The girls chatted a bit while we enjoyed our lunch. We both have promised not to let so much time to go by before there next play date.

Belle and I enjoyed the rest of the day by doing a little shopping and just having fun around the house. We always make the most of our day during the week together.
Posted by PicasaOn Saturday Belle and I met Lauren for lunch in Greensboro to celebrate her birthday....a little late!  Lauren and I were roomies when we first joined Chi Omega, my sophomore and her freshman year.  We have been best friends for 9 years now!  Wow-how fast does time go by? We ate at Lucky 32 and just caught up with everything going on in our lives. Belle loved doing lunch with the girls and loved checking everyone out at the restaurant.  Of course Belle loved seeing her Aunt Lauren and def. enjoyed playing with her hair!  We have promised to try to get together again soon.

Valentine's Day week ;)

Belle officially turned 5 months old on Friday--it is truly hard for us to believe that our sweet little girl is already 5 months old!  But, on the other hand it seems that she has always been here as well.  We had a few first(s) this week, but I guess with a new baby that is a weekly event!  Belle got her first runny nose, which of course was a little stressful for Mommy and Daddy.  She has recovered and it only lasted two days so we are thankful for the short visit.  Belle also moved from her bassinet in our bedroom to her big girl bed!  This was a big step for us.  She adjusted beautifully and now is sleeping in her beautiful crib in her room.  (Thanks Grams)

When I was a baby, my mom let a friend borrow most of my infant clothes and when she moved away she never gave them back to mom.  It makes me sad that Belle doesn't have any of them to wear, but when she gets a little older we have some cute Mommy outfits to put on her.  However, Grams did find a few things that I wore as a little girl.  This litte yellow zippy was a favorite of mine and it fits Belle now.  It is really surreal to see your child in your clothes.

When I picked Belle up at the babysitters on Friday, I had a new mom moment!  The three little children that stay with Belle at the sitters all had brought Valentine presents and of course not knowing we didn't have anything.  Live and Learn!  Belle received some great books and a rubber ducky for bath time!  All her little friends also brought her really sweet Valentine Day cards!  We will add those to her baby book with her cards from Aunt Amy and Uncle Todd, Grams and Grandpa G, and Gigi/Pap, Granny and Grandpa/Lizzie!  We thank Gigi and Pap for Belle's cute oneies and the pearl to add to her beautiful necklace.  Today we went to the mail box and found a present from Grandpa Mick and Lizzie....a bathing suit for her first trip to the beach in March.  She was so excited she had to try it on today!  Only a little more than a month away and we will be flying down to Florida for a visit.

I love shoes already!!!

Belle also had her first arts and craft project on Friday, she made us a heart magnet with her footprint on it!  Bri and I agree that the first gift from your child is the best of all!!

We had a nice relaxing Valentine's Day.  Daddy bought Mommy some chocolates and beautiful red roses.  He told Mommy that soon he would be buying flowers for his very special lady....Miss Belle.  We went to church and had a yummy brunch at one of our favorite restaurant's, River Birch.

The world of Blogging

I finally broke down--even though I said I wouldn't! Brian and I decided to start a blog to give our family and friends updates on sweet little Belle. Since our life is so hectic these days, we felt that it would be the easiest way to keep everyone updated on Belle.

When Belle was first born my mom would call her time with her "Belle Moments" or beautiful moments...so it seemed like the proper name for our blog.

For those of you that may not have known--Belle DeVault Ledbetter was born on September 12, 2009-6 pound 15 ounces 18.5 inches long. Belle means beautiful in French and Bri and I loved the name-DeVault is after my Grandmother--it is her maiden name. She passed away the year after Bri and I were married--2006. I miss her everyday and it is an honor to have carried her name on with Belle.

Belle was two weeks early and actually arrived on the day I was supposed to be helping host one of my best friends, Caryn's baby shower! So much for the planner in me timing that one correct! Labor and delivery went smoothly and at 2:07pm she was born! Anyways, I was fortunate to be at home with Belle for around 16 weeks, watching her grow, learning how to be a mom, and enjoying time with my wonderful family and friends! She has hit all her major milestones on time or a little head of schedule. Our latest is flipping from back to belly! Our pediatrician believes she will be an early walker and is a healthy, happy little girl!

Since the end of December I have been back to work, which I will say has been an adjustment. We are starting to settle into a routine and we have been so fortunate to find a wonderful caregiver to watch little Belle. I could not be more pleased with our situation. It allows me peace of mind when I am working...I truly do love my profession and I am continuing to try to find the appropriate work/family balance. I am fortunate that most weeks I get to work 4 days a week, giving me an extra day with my sweety!

Lately we have had quite a bit of snow for the south--at first we were excited to see the rare white stuff, but now Bri and I are ready for Spring! I have attached a slide show of Belle over the last 5 months...It is hard to believe next Friday she will be 5 months old!!!
