Florida

Belle loved her visit to see Grandpa, Lizzie and Buddy.  She loved meeting her new furry friend!  We visited with Frank and Anne and Ronnie and Jane....it was great to catch up with some of their great friends and Belle loved meeting them.

(Thanks for my cute outfit Delaney, I am glad it worked out from me to wear it)

It worked out that my Uncle Doug and Aunt Karen, Belle's great uncle and aunt were visiting in Florida while we were down!  We were able to meet them for brunch and a quick visit back at the house.  It was so nice to see them and can't wait for a extended visit when we travel to Indiana in August!  The last time they saw Belle was in October so you can imagine how much she had changed since their last visit!

Daddy wanted to do some shopping at truly the best outlet mall we have ever been too!  Belle enjoyed shopping and a leisurely lunch.  Mommy did not buy me any clothes even though it was really hard.....I did get a new outfit from my daddy...it says I love my daddy!  Too cute!

We also went out to eat at Daddy's favorite restaurant USS Nemos, it was as good as we remembered and Belle was great.

Lizzie gave Belle her first taste of sweet potato and of course she thought they were yummy!

Of course we also went to the beach for the first time.  The water was about 68 degrees and it didn't seem to phase Belle as I put her little feet in the water.  It was so precious to see her at the beach for the first time! Of course I posted too many picture.

Are we there yet?

While Daddy played golf with Grandpa and Lizzie, Mommy and Belle went for a walk and spent some time by the pool

So glad to be home!

We decided to leave Florida this morning to give us some time to relax at home today!  Are we ever glad we did!  There has been tornado warnings ALL evening.  If we would have left later in the day I am sure we would have been stranded!  Belle did great on the plane ride home and has been asleep ever since we have been home.  My little girl had too much fun!

First plane ride!

On Wednesday evening we headed on our first big adventure as a family!  We left for Florida to visit my dad(Grandpa) and Liz(Lizzie).  Grandpa was up in NC for meetings so he helped us with Belle at the airport, which was a major help!  I will tell you it is totally different traveling with a baby.  Everything that you have to bring through the airport is crazy! We made it on the first plane fairly smoothly and Belle did pretty good.  Once we got to Charlotte Grandpa was able to upgrade us all to first class to give Belle a little more room on the way down to Florida.  She fell asleep before we took off!  She was a great little traveler!  Of course she won over all the people sitting near us with her adorable smile!

Visit from Pap and Gigi

We had a visit last Saturday from Pap and Gigi.  The weather was gorgeous!  We enjoyed some lunch at our house and headed out for some ice cream since we had such a nice day.  Belle enjoyed the visit and loves her "shaking" easter eggs!  We were amazed that she could actually hold them with her little hands.

Bananas!

Belle tried bananas and loved them!  We are so happy she has been eating so well.

Happy 6th month!

Belle turned 6 months on a Friday but she didn't have her doctor's appointment until the following Monday.  I took the day off and we headed for our dreaded shots!!  Bri and I always bet on how much we think Belle will weigh from doctor visit.  He guessed 14.5 pounds and I guessed 15 pounds.  We were both close.  Little Belle weighs 14 pounds 7.3 ounces (20%), 25.25 (22%) inches long and her head circumference is 16.25 inches(which is up a whole inch 52%)  I think she just has lots of brains!!  We joined Daddy for lunch at one of our favorite spots, Chang Tai and headed over to Aunt Amy's for a some exercise with Davis and John Harrison.  We always have full days during the week when Mommy is off.

Update for two weeks!

We have had two crazy weeks!  Sorry for lots of updates at once, but last week we picked Grandpa up from the airport on Sunday night and we were just too tired to give you some updates on little Belle.  Enjoy our latest adventures!

Happy Girl!

Belle is happy most of the time, but today she was really happy that Wake Forest made the NCAA  tournament!!!!

Belle finds Scooter

We have two miniature dachshunds, Bosco and Scooter.  Since Belle has been with us for 6 months now they have gotten used to her being at the house and they don't bother her.  (I am sure that will change once she starts crawling ;) Up to now Belle has not realized her fury brother and sister.  But, today while she was sitting on the sofa with her Daddy she became intrigued with Scooter.  She grabbed his ears, pinched him, and loved to pet him.  He just laid there and let her explore!  What a sweet puppy!  I think they are already becoming fast friends.

Best inventions ever!

(So easy!)
Since I am making Belle's baby food I am fortunate to have two of the best inventions ever!  For you Mommies out there or anyone that loves to cook--you def. need a handheld immersion blender.  My stepmom, Liz bought us one for Christmas this year and I just used it for the first time tonight!  It has three attachments and it so small and easy to store.  Making baby food is so easy with this tool!  Thanks a bunch Liz!

Baby Beaba!
The second invention we love is our baby beaba baby food freezer!  Grams bought us this for Christmas and it is great to freeze baby food in the right portions!  Thanks Grams!

Sun Hat!

Today was such a beautiful day!  Daylight savings time makes me so happy!  The days are longer and it reminds me of Bri and I working in the yard after work! My tulips and daffodils are starting to pop out of the ground, which means Spring is almost here!  Yay!  I'm sure Belle will want to help this year.  With the warmer weather and sunshine it is time for us to put Belle in adorable little sunhats!  I loved all of mine when I was little and looks like Ms. Belle will too!
